remix #1 is one the favorites of the entire project. claude met brazils dj marky on an artist bus at a uk festival last summer and gave him the track >aundy<. he asked him to do a mix and marky and his friend s.p.y. turned in this amazing drum n bass version. numerous artists have been dropping it even in the middle of house sets! it really captures the drum n bass feeling of the original track taking it back to the genre which inspired it.
remix #2 is from our up and coming bristol based bass prodigy, julio bashmore. he takes on >california< the co-production by cvs and j phlip to another level, adding smooth low end bukem style bass drops and shimmery vox/pad programming to the already insane track. bashmore is one of the few new breed of uk producers who cross over all the way from house to dubstep.

i am europe is not only a lyrical genius, it sends you on a disco - ride, building up and breaking down to finally echo the great entertainers mind about europe, a toilet with no seat, flushing tradition down.

galens original mix is a stellar funky techie house thumper with some nice james bond influenced horn stabs and bouncy melodies that inter-play skillfully with the subbie bass line. of the two remixes on the b-side claude vonstroke steps up first with his cant miss minimal funky dirtybird style. rob mello closes out with a sultry, techie acid house flavored journey featuring long modulationsweeps perched on a chunky bass line.

claude vonstrokes hit album >bird brain< has been remixed by some of the best producers in the world from carl craig to robag whrume. dirtybird has decided to release the majority of remixes on vinyl in a series of very limited pressings throughout the next few months. each record will have 300 copies only.

this time its >the greasy beat<, the famed cvs / bootsy collins collaboration. continuing with the theme of claudes favorite producers - robag wruhme steps in for his first appearance on dirtybird. we are honored to have him on this release as he has heavily influenced both claude and justin martin over the years.
the other side features the young j. phlip, delivering her mad breaks/house version that always raises the roof at dirtybird events.
also, a super cool appearance by dop who made their debut on mothership last year as guests on the catz n dogz album. we are very happy to have them back for this special record.

straight off the heels of his highly successful bird brain album teaser tracks, aundy and beat that bird comes the definitive claude vonstroke record everyone has been waiting for. the a side is classic genius cvs at work. he constructs a mad vocal pattern up and down through 4 octaves and all the vowel sounds of the live human voice. then he creates a chord out of the notes all coming together for en even bigger surprise in the 2nd half. this track is quite simply unique. there is nothing else like it. the b-side resembles the freaky side of cvs harking back to the tech funk sound of tracks like chimps. this time claude makes an ultra-wide filter sweep sound like a pair of humongous tits bouncing up and down on a trampoline. the boob jokes are there but the track is so filthy dirty its hard to even find time to chuckle.

this is the first ep from claude vonstrokes new album due out october, 2009. it represents the deeper, moodier shades of the full-length project. the lead track, >aundy< is featured prominently as the closing music for claudes epic fabric 46 mix to be released on the same day as this vinyl. it is also a homage to the 90s drum bass sound of people like ltj bukem and good lookin records. on the flip, >storm on lake saint claire< is a vibing summer track that builds and sways with cascading melodies raining down on your ears. it is a perfect building block for bridging the gap between moody house and big room thunder.

claude vonstroke returns with his first original record in over a year. this time he partners with long time friend and upcoming producer, christian martin. this is a melodic hybrid of techno and house with influences as far away as drum n bass. the flip side features a remix by super hot producer gabriel ananda and newcomer alice rose. they playfully twist the main theme throughout, sprinkling in stabs to the constantly building groove. many people have said the original record sounds like a follow-up to >whos afraid of detroit?< but we will let you decide what to think for yourself.
